The Online Art & Science Summer School at ITMO University offers compelling and mind-opening lectures and workshops that focus on relevant fields that are having an impact around the globe. The topic this year's summer introduces you to a 3D aesthetic approach on representing the inner structures of the brain
R.I.S.O.B stands for Representing the Inner Structures Of the Brain. During this course, you will master essential abilities of 3D modeling utilizing open-source programs such as Blender and makehuman for an artistic portrayal of the internal designs of the brain in digital space
he basics of how to use a 3D program such as Blender for creating digital artwork
psychological theories and how they can aid us to create more interesting artworks

Ethan Avila
Ethan Avila is a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and educator. His work aesthetically combines the contemporary with the traditional, attempting to bridge the two, his work mainly focuses on the apotheosis of the human psyche through art and analytical psychology and its relationship with artificial life.

Ethan is currently working as a Digital art professor and is part of the main team in the Art&Science Center at ITMO University, in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Laura Rodriguez
Born in the land of myths, Mexico gifted her with the happiness of being, the world gave her an inner curiosity to explore it, and the biotechnological research provided her with empathy towards other species. Graduated from the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico as a biotechnological engineer with the aim of for the popularization of science, a master degree in molecular biology from Skoltech Institute of technology, and a second degree in Biological Arts from the Art and Science center of ITMO University and currently curator of the Bioart specialization.

The final result is a digital online showcase of the students' last undertakings and the possibilities to turn your works into an NFT.
Who can take the summer school?
We encourage students, young artists, and junior researchers interested in the combination of digital art, psychology, and biology to apply to their practices.
In order to not hustle we recommend you to have a middle-range laptop or desktop for 3D graphics, other than that, there are no prerequisites required and there is no programming involved in the workshop. The working language of the summer school is English, with possibilities to make it in Spanish.
