Sculptural figures are intertwined to form a network. Encapsulated within are mosses, whose bioelectrical signals are captured and transmitted between the elements via WiFi. This data is transformed into patterns of light on LED strips—impulses, rhythms, and fluctuations in intensity are reflections of the plants’ biological state and how they react to their environment. The interaction unfolds as a slow exchange of signals that never ceases but is not always easy to notice.

The work explores communication in nature as a model for digital systems. The use of mosses is dictated by their sensitivity to humidity, sound, and the chemical makeup of the environment. Their reactions are recorded and transformed into signals that can be transmitted and visualized. Communication consists not of concrete messages, but of shared information about changes in states.

The project sees the digital environment as a distributed and sensitive system. Instead of attempting to capture attention, the network transmits faint signals that are dependant on the specific place and conditions. By translating biological processes into the digital realm, the installation shifts our understanding of technology: from a tool to an environment that is able to capture and transmit states of being.
