Illusionary Salvation
Installation (video, audio)
2025

Illusionary Salvation is a video installation where viewers are able to witness the gradual collapse of a person’s identity as their memory is erased and falls apart. The focused, directed sound of a quiet whisper amplifies the sense of intimacy and closeness of the space, causing emotional discomfort, and even fear.

The research context of the project is attention economy and the analysis of modern recruitment methods used by destructive communities. The work draws on a combination of the qualitative analysis of specific cases, the study of digital platforms and the artistic interpretation of the personal experience of losing a loved one.

The goal of the project is to show how the human mind can become a pliable and easily controlled material. It reveals covert techniques of manipulation and demonstrates how hard these processes are to stop when they are not detected early, prompting viewers to think, and to consider protecting themselves and their loved ones.

Special thanks to Valeria Polozkova, Maksim Lisnenko, Igor Tyulyukin and Megabite Media for their support in creating the project
